What This Prayer Is

This guided prayer was shared during a NewStory Church gathering as part of a reflection on biblical peace.

Peace in Scripture is not the absence of chaos. It is wholeness. It is completeness. It is the calm that can exist even in the middle of the storm.

This prayer invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and surrender what you cannot control to God. It is not about performance or doing something perfectly. It is about presence.

You can return to this prayer anytime you need grounding, clarity, or rest.

How To Use This Prayer

Find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably
Place your feet on the ground and relax your shoulders
Take slow, deep breaths
Follow the spoken prompts if you feel comfortable
If your mind wanders, gently return to your breathing
You may listen with your eyes open or closed.
You may participate fully or simply listen.

There is no right or wrong way to pray.

A Reminder

You do not have to achieve peace.
You do not have to manufacture peace.
You do not have to wait for the chaos to end.

In Christ, peace is already present.

Return to this prayer as often as you need.

A Simple Prayer

God,
We surrender what we cannot control.
We ask for strength for what you have placed in our hands.
May your peace guard our hearts and our minds today.
Amen.
