NewStory Care

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

We All Need Care

Most people would probably agree that all humans are relational. In fact, it could be argued that in order to be our best selves, we need to be in a healthy community loving, helping and caring for one another.

As believers, we believe that God created us this way designed to receive care in our relationships.  We see this throughout the Bible beginning with Adam where being by himself if was not enough.  And we see this in Jesus, where he builds a community around Him with His disciples to do ministry and provide care during some of His darkest moments when He asked the disciple to be close and pray for Him in the Garden of Gethsemane.

If Jesus needed care, we all need care.

As Believers,
We Are All Called To Care

If you are a follower of Jesus, then you are called to show care. God made it very clear when He gave His commandments to the Israelites, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18) which Jesus later emphasized as being on the same level to the greatest command of loving God (Matthew 22:36-40).

Finding Hope in Simple Things

Crystal is a woman who has experienced the challenges of caring for a loved one with depression. She turned to God for help and found that simple acts of kindness, like sunflowers and homemade chicken soup, brought hope and joy to her husband. Crystal discovered that she has the gift of encouragement and has started the care ministry at NewStory to provide support to others going through difficult times.

NewStory Care

That’s why we have NewStory Care.

This is a ministry where we love on those who are going through a difficult season. Maybe it’s a loss of a loved one, or a loss of a job. Maybe it’s having health issues or a loved one having having health issues. Regardless of the what it is, if you or someone you know requires care, NewStory wants to help.

One of the most tangible expressions of this is our care package deliveries. Our care team drops off these packages at the recipients’ homes offering us a chance to talk and pray with them.

If you or someone you know needs care, please click the Care Request button or email care@newstorychurch.com. A pastor will review it and contact you. It will not be forwarded to the care team unless explicit consent is given by you in case privacy and discretion are required.

Whether the situation is big or small, we care and we want to help.
