Undercover Boss

Oct 4, 2026  •  Tom Kang

How do you worship God through your work when the person you work for makes it nearly impossible? And if you are the boss, what if the way you treat your staff was the only sermon they heard about your God all week?

In Part 3 of our Faith at Work series, Pastor Tom Kang looks at Ephesians 6:5–9, where the Apostle Paul addresses both workers and bosses under the lordship of Christ. We discover the danger of ophthalmodoulia ("eye-service"—working only when someone is watching) and are reminded that behind every earthly boss is the True Boss who sees everything. Because Jesus went "undercover" Himself—leaving His position, picking up a towel, and dying on the cross—we are called to work not merely for human approval, but as an act of worship to Christ.
